She was a back breaker

I picked up a drop in grill a little over a year ago and I am now just getting around to building the island to house it.  I spent most of last weekend building the framing and putting the backer board on.  The framing is made up of all metal studs.  They’re a little different than working with wood, but once you get then hang of how it works it goes together pretty fast.  And one good thing about metal studs is they are all always straight.  The backer board installation went very fast.  It took about 3 hrs to measure, cut and attach all the backer board.  I used a jig saw to cut it, but would probably use a circular saw next time.  I would also get carbide tipped blades.  I went through 4 jig blades.  It’s crazy how much dust the backer board produces, so wear a mask if you plan on working with it.  All that is left to do is tile the top, stucco the front and put the sink in.
